Sharing Session: USM and Hiroshima University Hold 12th Colloquium - Focus on the Theme "Re- Invention and Co-Enhance"
23 February 2025– The School of Educational Studies, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in collaboration with Hiroshima University recently organized the 12th Colloquium which emphasized the theme “Re-Enhancement Co-Enhance". This colloquium aims to strengthen academic relations and research collaboration between the two universities and provide an opportunity to exchange ideas on innovations in education and research.
The event lasted for 7 days at Higashi Hiroshima and Hiroshima University. Japan with various activities such as paper presentations, panel discussions, workshop sessions, cooking class and study tour to Shitake Industry, Hiroshima Disaster Center, Miyajima Island and Hiroshima City Museum. The theme Re-Invention and Co-Enhance emphasized joint efforts to enhance the fields of education and research through collaboration between the two institutions.
Among the issues discussed were educational development, as well as initiatives to strengthen joint research in the field of education and other various fields of education. Participants were also given the opportunity to share ideas on lifelong learning and human resource development.
This collaboration opens up new opportunities for both universities to implement student exchange programs and joint research networks, which are expected to provide long-term benefits to the academic community and the global society.
With the success of this colloquium and academic visits, it is hoped that more initiatives can be implemented to improve the quality of education and research at both universities and to have a positive impact on the students international experience. , This program achieved one of the PPIP strategic planning "1 student 1 passport".
It is hoped that next year's event will be much more research sharing and collaborations activities with both universities.
