Universitas PGRI Palembang Visits School of Educational Studies
15 January 2025 - The School of Educational Studies (SES), Universiti Sains Malaysia proudly hosted a delegation from Universitas PGRI Palembang (UPGRIP) today, marking a significant step in fostering international academic collaboration. The delegation, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Syaiful Edi, Director of the Postgraduate Program at UPGRIP, comprised approximately 70 participants, including lecturers and students. Among the notable attendees was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Misdalina, Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, who participated in the exchange.
The welcoming address and an introduction to SES were delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jamalsafri Saibon, representing the Dean of SES. Dr. Jamalsafri also shared insights into the impactful "I'm a Buddy, Not a Bully" project, a groundbreaking initiative spearheaded under his leadership. The project has been instrumental in equipping schools with tools and strategies to effectively manage and mitigate bullying cases, fostering safer and more inclusive learning environments.
In return, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Syaiful Edi provided an overview of UPGRIP's academic framework, mission, and achievements, further cementing the potential for meaningful partnerships between the two institutions.
The visit facilitated an enriching exchange of ideas and best practices, highlighting the mutual interest of both institutions in exploring future opportunities for collaboration in education.
