Re-signing of Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) Between School of Educational Studies, USM, and Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI)

On 14 October 2024, the School of Educational Studies, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), Cibiru Campus, officially re-signed their Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) following the expiration of the previous agreement. The renewed MoA reflects both institutions' ongoing commitment to strengthening academic cooperation, particularly in the fields of teacher training, joint research, and educational innovation.

The re-signing ceremony, held at the School of Educational Studies, was officiated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rahimi Che Aman, Dean of the School of Educational Studies, USM, and Dr. Yeni Yuniarti, Deputy Director of UPI, Cibiru Campus. This renewal reaffirms the partnership and focuses on advancing the collaboration in STEM education and green technology and teachers education aligning with current educational needs and sustainability goals.

The renewed MoA builds on previous successes and outlines the following areas for continued collaboration:

  1. ⁠Faculty and Student Exchange Programs: Enhancing opportunities for academic exchanges that promote cross-cultural experiences and joint learning.
  2. ⁠Joint Research Initiatives: Continuing and expanding collaboration on research projects that address contemporary educational challenges, with an emphasis on STEM, green technology, sustainable practices and teachers education.
  3. ⁠Curriculum Development: Joint efforts in developing cutting-edge curricula that incorporate modern teaching methodologies and technology integration.
  4. ⁠Conferences and Workshops: Co-organizing academic events, including conferences and workshops, to share insights and best practices in education.

The re-signing of the MoA signifies the commitment of USM and UPI to furthering their academic partnership. Led by Dr. Nor Asniza Ishak, this renewed collaboration will continue to foster knowledge exchange and strengthen ties in education, research, and sustainability, ensuring that both institutions remain at the forefront of educational advancement.
