Enhancing Academic Cooperation and STEM Knowledge: Visit from Prince of Songkla University to Universiti Sains Malaysia
March 1, 2024: A visit from Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus, Thailand was conducted to the School of Educational Studies, Universiti Sains Malaysia. The visit aimed to strengthen the relationship between the two universities and to enhance STEM knowledge among participants from PSU.
The visit program was successfully carried out as planned with good cooperation between both parties. The main objective of the program was to promote the exchange of knowledge and experiences between the two institutions, particularly in the field of education and STEM. The meeting session with the Deputy Dean, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aziah Ismail and the workshop on STEM curriculum implementation in teaching methods were part of the efforts to strengthen academic cooperation between the two universities.
Additionally, through STEM activities such as DIY Keychain, Slime making, Catapult challenge, and Paper tower conducted by PhD students from Universiti Sains Malaysia, participants from Prince of Songkla University were given the opportunity to gain practical experience that could enhance their understanding in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
The participants from Prince of Songkla University consisted of 36 undergraduate students and 6 lecturers from the Science and Mathematics Department, Faculty of Education. Overall, this visit led by Dr. Nor Asniza Ishak (USM) provided a valuable opportunity for the exchange of knowledge and experiences between the two universities and strengthened STEM knowledge among participants from Prince of Songkla University. Thanks to all involved in making this program successful.
