Welcome, and heartfelt congratulations to all new students who have
been selected to join the academic fraternity of the School of
Educational Studies (SES), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) for the
2025/2026 Academic Session. You are now at the threshold of an
intellectual journey that will not only shape you into a knowledgeable
individual, but also empower you to become an agent of change in the
increasingly complex world of education.

In this era of Industrial Revolution 5.0 the surge of Artificial Intelligence
(AI), the role of an educator is no longer confined to the transmission
of knowledge alone. Future educators must evolve into character
builders, facilitators of human values, and community leaders who
actively contribute to global sustainable development. Thus, your
admission into SES, USM marks a significant step towards building a
future that is inclusive, resilient, and value-driven.

As students, you are encouraged not only to master knowledge, but
