26 November 2025 – The School of Educational Studies (PPIP) proudly hosted the prestigious Postgraduate Kencana Night 2025, an annual celebration dedicated to recognising the remarkable achievements of postgraduate students in the field of education. Held at Pelinggam Cahaya Hall, USM, the event welcomed graduands from the 63rd USM Convocation Ceremony together with postgraduate students who demonstrated outstanding academic and leadership accomplishments.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of the Dean of the Institute of Postgraduate Studies (IPS), along with IPS officers and staff. Their attendance reflected the strong collaboration and continuous support between IPS and the PPIP in enhancing the postgraduate experience at USM.
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of a series of distinguished awards to honour exceptional student performance across various categories, including:
- Best Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Thesis Award: Zhou Zhuang
- Graduate On Time (Got) Award: Isah Usman, Li Yan, Zuo Chunrong, Xue Xiangying, Zhou Zhuang, Liu Yang, Hong Wuman
- Best Student Award - Master in Counselling: Ooi Eugene
- Best Student Award - Master of Education: Fung Jing Yuan
- Best Student Award - Master of Arts (Education) Mixed Mode: Grace Chow Su Un
- Best Student Award - Doctor of Education: Marina binti Mokhtar
- Raja Ali Haji Award (Best Malay Language Publication): Khong Wei Seng
- Publication Excellence Award: Xiao Mengyun, Chang Siew Lee, Li Yan, Li Wenjun
- Postgraduate Recognition Award: Nur Suhaila binti Ahmad
- Postgraduate Leadership Award: Shahrul Amri bin Mohamad
The evening provided a meaningful opportunity for graduands, lecturers, and invited guests to come together in celebration of years of dedication, research commitment, and academic resilience.
