Dr. Thien Lei Mee

Dr. Thien Lei Mee is currently a Senior Lecturer in School of Educational Studies, Universiti Sains Malaysia. Her areas of expertise are educational management and leadership, school effectiveness and improvement, instructional leadership, distributed leadership, teacher leadership, partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM), and multivariate analysis. Her current research interest includes principal instructional leadership and turnaround schools in Malaysia.

She has published articles in referred journals, including Educational Management, Administration and Leadership(Sage), International Journal of Leadership in Education(Taylor & Francis), International Journal of Educational Management (Emerald), Educational Studies (Taylor & Francis), Management in Education (Sage), Social Psychology of Education (Springer), Asia Pacific Education Researcher(Springer), Journal of Higher Education Policy and Management(Emerald), Social Indicators Research(Springer), Child Indicators Research(Springer), Quality & Quantity(Springer), and Quality Assurance in Education(Emerald). She has served as the reviewer for 20 referred journals such as Asia Pacific Journal of Education, Journal of Psychoeducational Assessment, Educational Studies, Educational Research, International Comparative, International Journal of Comparative Education and Development, and International Journal of Leadership in Education. She serves as Associate Editor for Asia Pacific Journal of Educators and Education and Editorial Board Member for International Online Journal of Educational Leadership.

At national level, she serves as a consultant for Classroom-based Action Research CARS-ED Program organized by Kuching District Education Office. At international level, she is also the consultant for Capability Building Program of educational management and leadership hosted by University of Science and Technology of Southern University (USTP) in Philippines. She has also facilitated workshops related to quantitative data analysis in Bhutan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. She is also the focal point (university representative) with Network on Education Quality Monitoring in the Asia Pacific (NEQMAP), UNESCO Bangkok in student learning assessment area. She is the recipient of International Fellowship sponsored by the Division of Sinology and China Studies, Center for Language Education and Cooperation, Beijing. She is also the Visiting Scholar in East China Normal University, Shanghai in 2021.
